ELUAMA ISUIKWUATO



HISTORY OF ELUAMA
Eluama is an autonomous community in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. It belongs to a ward called Isuamanwo.

Eluama community is located at the middle-belt of Isuikwuato LGA. Infact, it is just a stone throw from some part of Eluama called Umuokogbuo to Isuikwuato Headquarter, Mbalano.

It has a high school called Eluama Secondary school located at Ekebe Town, Eluama. Eluama Secondary school is an institution of knowledge where learning and acquisition of skills is highly rated.

In addition, this great Autonomous community is been made up of eight communities. They include:-

1.    Ekebe
2.    Umuso
3.    Umuebere Nkuma
4.    Umuebere aja
5.    Umuokogbuo
6.    Umuihie
7.    Umuerem
8.    Nnunya

Based on the author, emphasis will be on Umuokogbuo Community.

Umuokogbuo community is one the indigenous community in Eluama Autonomous Community. So to add, it’s an autonomous community on its own.

Umuokogbuo is located at some kilometers away from the ward headquarter, Mbalano. It’s the closest community to the headquarter among others.

This community is surrounded by several communities such as Amuta/Otampa, Umuasua, Umuasua, Umuobiala and Umuso
This community is been headed by only one personality titled (Eze) and his cabinet members with different duties.

Presently, the Eze in position is (Eze Ebere Ogbuneke).

This great community have a standard primary school, called Uporoto community primary school. This primary school have trained several persons. Infact, all the well known men and women from Umuokogbou community and the neighbouring community passed through this primary school.

The school is a government approved primary school in Abia State. It have qualified teachers that handle several subjects from primary (1) to primary (6).  In addition to that, the school have trained so numerous personalities, to mention among them, Pharm/Dr Rufus Obi a philanthropist (omeru-oha 1) of Umuokogbuo.

Moreso, this great community, Umuokogbuo have some natural resources such as streams, forests which serve as a recreational center.
